We've seen it happen in some games, but a huge match? More to the point, why should it be down to the victims of racism to wrestle such a dilemma? Should the onus not be on the ref to abandon the match? I agree we would not be having this discussion if the footage had not emerged as publicly as it did but while Chelsea FC continue to retain the services of someone convicted by the FA of racially abusing an opponent, we cannot be that surprised that their fans will play up to it. I have no problem with these fans being banned last week, but is it really an isolated incident? Or something that exists deep within the culture of the club and is epitomised so emphatically by John Terry leading the side out every week as the club captain?Clencyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13046349446590586431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-259453876715640582.post-52454465049218131002015-02-22T00:33:59.846-08:002015-02-22T00:33:59.846-08:00Great article fellow blogger. I have wondered if you agree with Mario Balotelli who has said previously that he'd walk off the pitch if he were abused even if that meant fines etc. do you think that if more Black players did that, they would take the matter more seriously? And if the metro video of the French guy hadn't been made and sent in I don't think we'd be having this conversation....Abena Sɛwaahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00582863316863896796noreply@blogger.com
